Welcome To The United States League
Thanks for checking out the new independent pro baseball, United States League. Plans are to launch in 2024, playing our first season. The first years will be short seasons, allowing us to build the foundation of the league. The first year we hope to have 4 or maybe 5 teams in one division. If we quickly get to 3 or 4 teams, work will begin on getting to two divisions for 2024. So the goal for the first year is 4 to 8 teams.
The United States League will follow in large part the well established rules of baseball with few exceptions. Games will be 9 innings, except double-headers. Each game of the double-header will be 7 innings. There will be no Designated Hitter. We will borrow a newer rule from another league of Sudden Death Overtime. If the score is tied after 9 innings, the Home team will come to bat again in Sudden Death Overtime. They must score to win. The last runner to make an out in the bottom of the 9th will be placed on first (second if Home teams have a huge disadvantage, that will be reviewed). The Away team has 3 outs without allowing a run and they win. Home team scores a run in OT and they win. Simple, fast and baseball.
